Purpose of the role
Our Company specializes in the design and manufacture of heavy-duty packaging solutions that meet the packaging requirement of its many customers.
Our company now has opening for a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer to expand its Engineering department.
Overview of Position
The Multi-skilled (Electrically bias) Shift Engineer will provide maintenance and improvement activities in a busy manufacturing environment. They will carry out routine maintenance to minimise down time and ensure machinery and equipment is adequately maintained. They will be required to work on new developments and installations as required to suit the needs of the business.
Shift pattern – Panama 12 hour shifts (2-2-3), No nights and No afternoons.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical/Mechanical fault-finding, diagnosis and repairs.
- Prioritise and conduct all maintenance work.
- Implement and develop new processes to resolve faults and prevent repeat issues.
- Ensure all machines, processes and operations meet required standards.
- Ensure all manufacturing plant and tooling is maintained to a high standard and that unplanned maintenance is kept to a minimum.
- Carrying out robust PPM on all machines throughout the plant.
- Assist maintenance team with all projects.
- Undertake special projects as directed by the Management Team.
- Produce daily reports on CMMS (MaintainX).
- To maintain a clean and tidy work area at all times.
- To be a proactive team member.
- Certain levels of overtime are expected for shift cover, breakdowns, projects plus whatever may be required to satisfy the business needs.
Requirements
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Candidates for the role of Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer will be able to demonstrate:
- Electrical Engineering background.
- Experience maintaining & repairing a range of manufacturing equipment.
- Recognised qualification in Electrical Engineering/apprenticeship.
- (HNC/D, BTEC, City & Guilds or equivalent)
- Previous experience in a similar maintenance role
- Experience with fault finding on PLC’s (Siemens S7)
- Excellent communication and team working skills
- Ability to work on your own initiative.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to comply with Health and Safety regulations.
- Ability to deal with a range of tasks.
- Prioritising and working to tight deadlines.
- Beneficial but not essential: FLT Licence & MEWP Licence.
